Near Miss At Scottish Sea Farms Mega-Hatchery
Quite by chance spotted this potential pollution event about to happen.
This incident was located on the SSF hatchery slipway. It appears that a decommissioned salmon farm pen had been cut up and left on the slipway along with a generator full of diesel fuel. A high tide was predicted but a lack care meant the industrial waste was left at risk of washing away. Adjacent business GaelForce Fusion immediately called out staff to make this safe on behalf of SSF. Unnecessary and avoidable emergency action.
As a member of the public I only had twitter as a way of reporting this incident. Surely there should be a better way of reporting these issues.
